National Lockdowns
Due to national lockdowns in all UK nations, all GOC events are currently cancelled.
We look forward to being able to restart activities once local and national restrictions permit.
General information
A circular walk along field paths and lanes in South Shropshire. Soon after setting off, we pass St Mary's Church and the medieval priory gatehouse (now a Landmark Trust holiday property). We then walk upstream, close to the River Teme as far as Downton Gorge with its ornate bridge and semi-circular weir (mesmerising when viewed from above!). We can enjoy broad views of the Clee Hills and the Long Mynd, once we leave the gorge. Total ascent: 124 metres. Social distancing will be possible throughout this walk.
Terrain / Difficulty
An easy walk using public footpaths (some stiles) and quiet country lanes. Only one steepish incline, as we leave the river. May be muddy in a couple of places after recent rainfall. This is Autumn, after all!
