A shortish but hilly ride following in the footsteps of the Fitzwilliam family who were the richest family in the realm at the turn of the last century all due to the discovery of coal under their lands in South Yorkshire. We will visit their ancestral home of Wentworth Woodhouse ( the longest frontage of any stately home in the UK) and their industrial workshops at Elsecar (lunch opportunity). Then on through mostly country lanes back to the start.
The ride is suitable for all types of bikes and, as it is a bit hilly, we can take our time in getting round with plenty of opportunities for stops. Tea and Cake available at mine at the end of the ride.
