Event Details

General information

****It is essential that you sign up for this walk if you are attending as the starting place may change and if that happens emails can be sent to attendees.

This is a full days walk, part of the Heart of Wales walking trail, to Bucknell, 8 - 9 miles.

***We will have stayed overnight in Craven Arms so will get a taxi (or lift with attendee on walk) to Clunbury to start the walk and at the end of the walk,  taxi or lift to Knighton where we are staying overnight.

The trail here rises over a watershed to the small village of Hopton Castle where a visit to the castle is a must.

We then climb through Hopton Wood to Meeroak before descending into the Redlake valley.

There are splendid views down into the valley and the final stretch follows a woodland path above the flowing waters of the Redlake a tributary of the Clun.
