Our Groups are up and running with their activities. From the 1st of May we will no longer require advanced booking for most events. Events may still require advanced booking if it is necessary to place a limit on the number of attendees based on the event's risk assessment, or other factors.
General information
Appledore is now far inland, but was once a busy seaport, raided by the Vikings and later by the French. The area was threatened by invasion from Napoleon, leading to the construction of the unique Royal Military Canal. We will walk a section of the Saxon Shore Way, with majestic views of Romney Marsh up to Kenardington Church, and then return to Appledore beside the now peaceful Royal Military Canal. At the end of the walk there will be the chance to stop for a drink or lunch at the excellent Black Lion pub in Appledore. This will be walked at a gentle pace.
Terrain / Difficulty
Mostly flat with a very gentle incline up to Kenardington Church
