  • Approx Distance 8 Miles
  • TerrainModerate. Although most of the walk is not taxing, there will be one steep (for Bedfordshire) hill. And at least two stiles, one high and the other ‘narrow’.

A circular walk of about 8 miles taking in historic Ampthill Park  (the ‘home’ of Catherine of Aragon, and the jewelled hare) and the farmland nearby. The route takes in some hills but is mostly flattish or gently sloping.  It will pass through farmland, nature reserves, woods, field edges and pastures/meadows. It could be muddy in places, with paths varying from road-side to fields. High points, in both senses, include an historic ruin and two commemorative crosses. There will be an optional café or pub stop at the end.
