Covid-19 - getting back outdoors
Our groups in England are now able to offer events, starting from the 18th of July, with a maximum of six participants on each event. To take part in any of these events you must book using the ticketed booking system. If the event you are looking at does not show ticket options it is either fully booked, or has not yet been set up to take bookings. Our Scottish and Welsh groups are still not able to run events at this time, but we hope this will change in the near future as guidance from the relevant governments is updated.
A circular walk of about 8 miles taking in historic Ampthill Park (the ‘home’ of Catherine of Aragon, and the jewelled hare) and the farmland nearby. The route takes in some hills but is mostly flattish or gently sloping. It will pass through farmland, nature reserves, woods, field edges and pastures/meadows. It could be muddy in places, with paths varying from road-side to fields. High points, in both senses, include an historic ruin and two commemorative crosses. There will be an optional café or pub stop at the end.
Terrain / Difficulty
Moderate. Although most of the walk is not taxing, there will be one steep (for Bedfordshire) hill. And at least two stiles, one high and the other ‘narrow’.
