Our Groups are up and running with their activities. From the 1st of May we will no longer require advanced booking for most events. Events may still require advanced booking if it is necessary to place a limit on the number of attendees based on the event's risk assessment, or other factors.
We start our walk in the roman town of Alcester, admiring the many fine buildings built somewhat later and then proceed along the banks of the River Arrow and over fields until we reach woodland and the only significant hill on the walk. We are rewarded with a coffee stop and views back over Alcester.
We continue through woodland and across fields to picturesque Exhall, crossing the cricket pitch and climbing one steep field for more fine views including the distant Ragley Hall. We will pause for lunch near the 18th c gorse and thatch horse house provided for visiting clergy in Oversley. We rejoin the River Arrow for our return wander back to Alcester where there are options for tea/cake/coffee/beer.
Bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink as there are no shops once we leave Alcester. The wood was muddy when the route was checked in May so boots are recommended.
Terrain / Difficulty
A generally flatish walk with one incline.
