The walk initially runs west along the Greensand Way, and into the village of Holmbury St Mary. Then we head east along winding woodland paths to the hammer-pond village of Friday Street. First further east, perhaps seeing fearsome lizards by the path, then south, we climb the dip slope of the Greensand scarp and follow the ridge top to gain Leith Hill, the highest point in Surrey. From the tower, there are magnificent views south as far as the South Downs. The car park - and the vital tea and cakes - will then only be a short stroll away. The walk is led by Robert L. The walk is 9 miles long.
