9. A Beacons Summit and two Mountain Lakes – 10 miles

Event Details

General information

This is a strenuous 10 mile walk exploring remote moorland and mountain ridges in the quieter western part of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

After a walk across remote moorland, passing a mountain lake (Llyn Yr Fan Fawr), the walk will climb Fan Brycheiniog, a 802 metre summit with extensive views.

After continuing along the switch back path at the top of the steep slope to view Llyn y Fan Fach, the return is along an escarpment with views of the Upper Swansea valley descending to the A4067 car park.

Bring a packed lunch and plenty of fluids and extra layers of clothes just in case it's chilly.
