Richmond Park

We started slighter later than planned as people were stuck in traffic and the car park filled up much earlier than normal and the queue was all the way around the car park, but as Bill had pre walked the route he took a slightly different route through the biggest enclosed space in London and also the largest of Londons 8 Royal Parks. This allowed 29 walkers and only 1 dog  to enjoy a terrific 5 mile walk throughout the crisp morning as the frozen Pen Ponds attracted families and a few people that missed the lesson about walking on frozen water. The Deer were roaming around enjoying the winter sun as it shone down on us from a clear blue sky. When the White Lodge of the Royal Ballet School came into view Neil proved why he was not in Swan Lake.   We ended the walk at the Roebuck pub where 25 of us sat down for a roast dinner and a good old natter before a gentle stroll back to our cars
