THE LAKE DISTRICT GROUP IS COMING BACK - NEW CO-ORDINATORS FOR 2013
Welcome one and all! Can I take this opportunity to introduce myself (Keith Webster) and my fellow Co-ordinator (Pete Duggan) to you all. We are both relatively new to Cumbria and the GOC, but realise the great potential the Club has in creating social, active and inspirational opportunities to meet, share and enjoy the best that the Lakes has to offer.
Over the next few weeks we will be putting together a few meetings and events that we hope lots of you will want to come to and enjoy. In the meantime, if you could get in touch via the Lake District e-mail address, and let us know what you want your Cumbrian Club to do; what are its current strengths and successes, and where would you like it to go in the future, what would you like us to offer members ... all this will help us make the Lake District GOC vibrant, diverse and enjoyable.
The original content of this page remains below, as we see no point altering it until we know exactly what Pete and I will be able to organise or offer. So, please read on (bearing in mind the caveat that things might change), get in touch, and we look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the coming weeks and months.

Please try and be at the rendezvous in good time (remembering that parking may be limited) - WE WON'T WAIT !Unlike some of our fellow groups it is unusual for us to manage a pub lunch stop (although we often go for tea or a meal after the walk). So please ensure that you bring a packed lunch and suitable refreshments on all walks. Also bring waterproofs. Please wear suitable clothing and boots.
The Lake District group generally has monthly Sunday walks (except during the winter months). They are designed to suit most tastes and abilities - from gentle fieldpath rambles to rather more ambitious assaults on the Lakeland peaks. Although most of our walks are within the Lake District itself, we occasionally venture further afield - into North Lancashire, the Yorkshire Dales or North Pennines.
Walks may be cancelled in bad weather so please contact the organiser in advance if there is any doubt (especially if you are travelling a long distance !).
To contact this group by e-mail, phone or letter please use our contact page.
