The groups which make up GOC organise all of the events, each one has a person who co-ordinates their events and acts as a contact for the group. To find out more about any group and how to contact them, look under our Groups page.
A central committee of up to 12 Directors manage services for the groups and comprises:
Represents the club and deals with all aspects of club policy, publicity, insurance and safety.
Ensures that communication to members through the newsletter and website are consistent.
Graphic design for ‘Outdoors’ covers and other GOC publications and deals with advertising sales.
Advice and assistance to any member organising a GOC event.
Contact for GOC group co-ordinators and associated clubs.
Manages membership subscriptions, renewals, change of address and newsletter delivery problems.
Takes the minutes of committee and general meetings.
Edits GOC's newsletter, Outdoors, dealing with all articles and event reports.
Deals with all general correspondence.
Manages the club's finances including membership payments and expense claims.
Manages the website and IT resources of the club.
Promotes and encourages the participation of women in the activities of the club.
Assistant to the Committee
Maintains the club's archives.
Organises the ballot at a general meeting.
